I used this when my BV came back after my period. Applied it every night for about a week with a glove and it sorted things out. I keep a jar in the fridge now so I have it ready whenever I need it. Much better than going back on antibiotics, but I did start getting a yeast infection, beware if you are prone to that! The honey does seem to feed yeast, but it seems only if you already have some yeast. I normally get a YI near my period, so I just used the honey near the start of my cycle. You do need to warm the honey first otherwise its way too thick, did that the hard way 😂 I put the jar in a bowl of hot water for a few minutes. Def recommend. I have neurological conditions, pelvic imbalance issues and other factors that kept me in chronic UTI and BV infections. For 4 years, and with western meds, I could not shake those infections. Look into PubMed for articles on using Manuka Honey for BV, and be sure to counter your research with the concept of Lactobacillus overgrowth. Furthermore, anytime, and I mean almost everytime, insert Manuka Honey vaginally with a nitrile-gloved hand after intimate scenarios whether with yourself of your SO.
Regarding Lactobacillus overgrowth, if your nethers begin to smell like yogurt, back off on using Manuka Honey, or anything like Vitamin C suppositories or boric acid. Side note when using Vitamin C suppositories, only use these to first assist in clearing up your current, chronic BV infection (along with other medications prescribed by a doctor) and use for 6 consecutive nights monthly following your menstrual cycle. And finally, back to this manuka honey, this will clear your BV (included as part of a proper plan) and taste so good. It’s rich in flavor, dark amber in color and the aroma is mouth watering!
