Isolated from the human vagina​1​, emerging human pathogen​2​. Has caused chorioamnionitis in pregnant women​3​.

Often misidentified as streptococci in labs, resulting in underrepresentation in infections​2​.

Full genome sequencing was performed in 2016​4​.
