Citrobacter koseri vulvovaginal and urinary tract infections

Citrobacter koseri is considered part of the normal flora of our digestive tract, but may be an opportunistic pathogen, causing infection where it gets the opportunity.

Citrobacter koseri appears to have a clever ability to dig into cells, encouraging its survival and resistance to treatments. This is probably the mechanism that results in abscesses.
