Lactobacillus rhamnosus is commonly found in the vagina and is a probiotic species believed to be part of healthy vaginal flora. Lactobacillus rhamnosus is thought to have a protective effect on the vagina and urinary tract by excreting biosurfactants that block the adhesion of vaginal and urinary pathogens.
