Bladder retraining consists of ‘re-learning’ and retraining your bladder.
Bladder retraining works like this:
- You create a schedule of when you want to try to urinate, and you avoid urinating between those times.
- You may force yourself to wait for one or one-and-a-half hours between urinating, despite some leaking or urge to urinate.
- You then increase the time as you succeed in retraining your bladder, until you are urinating every three or four hours.
