Lawsonella clevelandensis in the vagina
Fastidious, slow growing, emerging pathogen1. Partially acid-fast, non-spore-forming, catalase positive, pleomorphic, isolated from human abscesses (spinal, peritoneal, breast), shares similarity with Dietzia timorensis (DSM 45568)2. Corynebacterineae suborder. Antimicrobial susceptibility is lacking, discussed in this study3, with normal habitat unclear. This organism may be part of normal human microbiota. References
