How to use the Sea Buckthorn Oil Kit

Aunt Vadge’s Sea Buckthorn Kit comes with a 30ml bottle of oil, 50 vagina-safe pure vegetable capsules and a washable capsule applicator. Sea buckthorn oil is an effective method to moisturise dry vaginal tissue from the inside and out.

Using sea buckthorn oil on the vulva, perineum or anal area

Apply a few drops of sea buckthorn oil to the affected area and gently massage it in. Apply as often as needed.

Using sea buckthorn oil capsules vaginally or orally

Open an empty vegetable capsule. Unscrew the dropper cap and, while it’s submerged in the oil, squeeze the black rubber cap so the glass stem sucks up some oil.

Holding the larger half of the capsule steady between thumb and forefinger, squeeze the black rubber cap again to push the oil out of the stem, into the waiting capsule.

Click the capsule halves together to seal. For oral use, swallow with water. For vaginal use, use the capsule applicator or a clean, dry finger to insert the capsule deep vaginally. Vaginal application is best done right before bed to maximise surface area and duration of treatment. (Lying down keeps the oil in longer.)

Some oil will eventually make its way out of your vagina, though the goal is to keep as much absorbed as possible.

How much oil should go into one capsule?

One size 00 vagina-safe vegetable capsule holds about 1ml. One full capsule of sea buckthorn oil vaginally is one dose.

For oral use, use two full capsules twice daily for the best effect. Less is not a therapeutic dose and won’t have the same impact, while more may be wasted, as only a certain amount can be absorbed and distributed to tissues each day, hence the divided doses.

After three weeks, use two capsules once daily or as needed.

Tips on inserting the sea buckthorn capsule vaginally

If your vagina is very dry, put some water-based lubricant on both the capsule and the applicator to help with smooth insertion and to facilitate the capsule dissolving (which requires some moisture). Use as much as you need to be comfortable.

Dress for drips! The oil is a bright orange colour, so dress accordingly.

What to expect

Expect the effects to take days and weeks to show fully, but you will feel the soothing, moisturising impact straight away.

Safety and warnings

Sea buckthorn fruit and seed oil is considered generally safe and effective, and a valuable skin and tissue oil. Don’t use sea buckthorn if you are allergic. Do not use if you experience an adverse reaction.
