Review: Probiotic Purfem – what’s in it

Purfem is a women’s probiotic developed by a pharmaceutical company (Aralez) for use after antibiotics.

For CA$32, you get 10 vaginal suppositories (‘ovules’) with 10 billion each of Lactobacilli rhamnosus and Lactobacillus gasseri.

This product is a very simple probiotic that contains strains known to colonise healthy vaginas, and could be useful for helping to maintain normal lactobacilli levels or to repopulate after antibiotics.
