Review: BiopHresh Vaginal Homeopathic Suppository

This product is vitamin C with probiotics and homoeopathic remedies designed to treat bacterial vaginosis and related symptoms such as itching, irritation, odour and discharge.

My Vagina’s take on BiopHresh’s suppositories

We like it! Only good ingredients and nothing controversial (besides the homeopathy but that won’t hurt you).

This product is marketed as a homeopathic product, however, it is also a solid probiotic at 5bn CFU per dose, while also containing vitamin C. The two latter ingredients, downplayed in favour of the homeopathic ingredients, are potent ingredients in their own right.

Some of the probiotics are vagina-specific, in particular L. crispatus, L. gasseri and L. rhamnosus. Overall, good mix of probiotic bacteria.

Homeopathy is an unproven medicine, but it won’t hurt you and if it does work, may be useful.

Cost per dose is reasonably high, especially if required for longer periods of time or considering shipping costs.

If there is minor odour, itching or discharge, a run of this product may solve your problems, and hallelujah!

Is it going to cure chronic BV or aerobic vaginitis? Probably not, but it’s worth a try. If you were going to use this product for chronic vaginal dysbiosis, it’d be worth doing 2-3 packets run together. May be useful between bigger treatments as management.

The product has three prongs to it:

  • The homeopathic substances to (theoretically) exert an influence on the environment to help regain balance
  • The probiotics to help rebuild healthy flora and dislodge pathogens
  • Vitamin C to maintain acidity and a low pH

The gelatin capsule will melt at body temperature, releasing its contents without harmful fillers or other ingredients.
